Your Abs Are Worth It
Of all fitness exercises being performed today, working out the abs has always been the most challenging for many men. The workout market is full of responses to this, attempting to sell pills, formulas, equipment and diet plans to address this need. This is partly because ab workouts for men are more uncomfortable than any other. The burn created in the stomach by doing sit ups or crunches is just too uncomfortable to endure for long periods of time.
A nice set of abs certainly looks good, but one’s appearance is only a small part of the reason why healthy, strong abdominal muscles are important. They help keep good posture, protecting the back from stressed discs and pain. A solid set of abs also keeps the stomach, kidneys, liver and other important organs from sagging inside the body cavity, which can lead to serious medical conditions. Don’t let your abs go! They are worth maintaining.
No Need To Sweat It
One of the biggest challenges in sticking to ab workouts for men and getting fit around the abdominal area is not only finding the right exercises, but the time to do them as well. Now, here’s the secret: you don’t have to spend a lot of time on your abs in a big, long workout session! You can get just as good results by performing a number of very short sessions every day.
Here is an example of how it works. These ab exercises for men can be done in a single day from home or at the office.
9 am – 2 sets of 10 push ups and 15 bodyweight squats
10 am – 3 minutes of plank holds
11 am – 4 sets of 5 push ups and 10 bodyweight squats
1 pm – 3 minutes worth of plank holds
2 pm – 3 sets of 8 push ups and 12 bodyweight squats
3 pm – 3 minutes worth of plank holds
4 pm – 1 set of push ups and bodyweight squats (no repeat–go to your maximum repetitions
Keep It Up, And Don’t Plateau
As you can see, each session is only two to three minutes long. That is not even enough time to build up a sweat. Now there is no longer a need to spend extra time going to the gym, because it can be done with these mini workouts spaced through your normal day. Just set the timer on your watch, cell phone, or computer to remind you when and what to do, and go for it. It is important to realize, as with any training program, you will eventually hit a plateau that requires you to rotate to another workout session in order to break through it. The key is to not give up, keep the exercises varied and interesting, and be prepared to get some complements on that tight stomach you develop.
Good luck!
